Universal
Gram Connectivity
The
Government is keen to ensure mobile services in 55,000 unconnected villages
over the next five years with an investment of Rs 20,000crore through the
universal service obligation fund (USOF). It is important for the internet and
also mobile banking as many of the users can seamlessly work on a real time
basis.
The
Telecom Ministry expects to connect half of these villages in the next three
years in areas, including North-East, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
